False Teachers Exposed: DAVID EELLS

False Teachers Exposed: DAVID EELLS

Rain-hole in one

Oh boy we really got a good rain yesterday and today the first in about a month. Our grass had begun to die. The corn in the garden got stunted a little bit but for the most part the garden did pretty well. We got 2 small rains there that we did not get here at home.

Well I got my 3rd hole in one at Roebuck Golf course last week and the Birmingham news was supposed to have it in the paper last Thursday but didn't as they didn't the other 2 times that I got hole in one. Oh well not to worry I have been playing about 8 years so that's good enough for me.
We have been dog sitting for the past few days with 2 minature doxhounds and a hiens 57 pretty big dog name Bear. He is good and sweet and we built a 6 ft fence around the back yard just for him and he enjoys it very much but he loves to get out in the neighborhood and we have to watch him like a hawk when he is in the house because if he gets the chance he will bound out the door and be gone for a couple hours. You might not as well call him because he ignores you so we just leave both doors cracked just a little and when he gets give out he comes bounding in. We live in a leash law neighborhood. When he finally comes back he will lay aroung and sleep the rest of the day as if he had worked hard.

I was playing golf the other day and my driver was sounding funny so I checked it and it was cracked right above the sweet spot about 2 inches. I must be getting stronger in my old age. I had only had it a little over a year so I sent it back to Master Grip Golf where I bought it and they are putting a new head on it for free. I bought 3 new hybrid iron woods and tried them out yesterday and today a little bit at the driving range at Springville and love them they will replace my 3, 4, and 5 irons which I don't hit so good anyway.

I knew today would be a good day because yesterday was Sue and my 57th anniversary and we both for got about it. However today I thought about it first so I kind of got out of that without being severely scolded. But she seems to never to forget things like that. Some day when I least expect it BAM. Oh well I got up at 5:00 again and went to the golf course and walked and played 9 holes and it was sweltering hot before we got finished. I played fair thru 6 holes I had three pars and three bogies so number 7 is a three par so I used a pingI3 pitching wedge and struck the ball well and I thought I had hit it too far but my two buddies started hollering loud and said it went it went in so I made my third HOLE IN ONE. Then number 8 is a long and challenging 4 par hole. I hit an excellent drive and was about 115 yards from the green so I took my 9 iron and had to make sure I got across the creek so the ball hit on the front part of the green and looked like it was going in for an eagle but stopped short by a few inches for a birdie so that made me even par. Then number 9 is a very long par 5 hole and I pared it for an even par for the day. We went to Krispy Kreem for doughnuts to celebrate. Ken bought a dozen hot donuts and we had a good time Bill Ken and myself. God is good all the time.

Caught in the middle.

Yesterday afternoow Sue and I were shelling peas and Lela called and said she had been involved in a 3 car wreck. She was going on a call to measure a house for new curtains with the decorator and they had stopped at a red light and when the light turned green they both let foot off the brake and at that time Lela was rear ended and was knocked into the back of her decorators car and both were knocked thru the intersection. A 19 year old boy driving about 50 plowed in to them. He told them that he was on his cell phone talking to the police about going to defensive driving training. They were both banged up a good bit. Xrays revealed that she may not have broken any thing but she could barely get around today. Maybe tomorrow will be better

The day after the 4th of July

Got up at 5:00 am and went up to the garden. Wow everything is growing like crazy. Picked about 3 bushels of pink eyed peas, a few dozen ears of corn most of the corn is not quiet ready yet, pick a couple gallons of cucumbers, a dozen tomatoes, a gallon of squash, some peppers. By then it was 8:00 oclock and getting pretty hot. I had a drink of water and watched the newn for about ten minutes, then decided to cut some grass for my friend Jeff who owns the land. I got the riding mower started and it has a 4 foot wide cutting area. Everything was going great for about 2 hours then I ran across some nylon rope that someone had thrown in the old drive way and it got wound around the cutting blakes real bad I mean real bad. I didn't quiet know what to do since it is a big mower. So I looked aroung in the building next to the garden and found some things that you drive a cars front wheels onto to get under the car and ran the front wheels of the mower on those and got it about 4 or 5 inches off the ground. This is when the fun began. One of the hardest things for me to do is to get up and down because of my very bad back and hips. I found a bunch of cloth in my truch to cushion the cement. When I looked under the mower I thought I will probably never get this stuff loose. I can't use my left arm for anything heavy and can't lay on that side on hard surfaces so I layed on my right side on the rags and cut alittle or the rope off of one of the blades finally. The other one was a different thing it had this rope really wrapped tight and I didn't have much room to work with and having to do most everything with my right hand. Now laying on my right side and with my left hand put the knife in my right hand and began to saw back and forth til I got the blade dull then opened another blade and got it dull too. I would saw for a couple minutes and stop and relax my arm for a couple minutes and when some of the rope began to tear loose I would have to get up which was a job in its self and go to the other side and do the same thing. This went on for an hour and it was hot because this was about 11:30 am. I had not made much progress so while I was in one of my resting positions I told God that I had to have His help and to give me some idea how to unstick this because my knife was too dull to do anymore good. I thought I will walk to my car and see what I can find. Well all I found was a lug wrench and that was too thick to do anything with then I happened to see the knife that I had brougnt to work up the corn with and it was kind of like a saw and a knife all in one. So I started sawing with it changing sides of the mower every little bit and finally I said Lord I am finished you'll have to finish up if it gets done so about that time the last little pieces of rope fell off. I thanked Him for His help and it was about 12:00 noown by now so I finished what little grass that was left to cut.

When I tried to get out of bed this morning was a terrible struggle but I made it thru the day working for Lela making curtains then came home and took a nap and shelled peas. God is good all the time
